Press Release 2 February, 2007
NGV Overview
With a major cause of polluted airways in Asia and other global cities being the emission from vehicles and industries, leading Asian countries have committed to improve air quality as well as reduce the impact of high energy prices.
Used as a vehicle fuel for more than 80 years, natural gas is now making a significant impact on the air quality and energy security of Asian nations.
The Asia-Pacific region represents one of the fastest growing NGV markets in the world, with Thailand expecting unprecedented growth in NGV vehicle numbers rising from 25,000 NGV’s to a potential 250,000 NGV’s by 2011.
Other countries like China, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Australia, Korea, Japan, Iran, UAE and others regional countries are also experiencing strong growth as governments and fleet operators pursue energy security, air pollution reduction and greenhouse gas emission reductions through NGV and alternative fuel programs.
ANGVA 2007 Conference & Exhibition
Following the overwhelming success of the Asia Pacific Natural Gas Vehicles Association’s (ANGVA) first biennial Conference and Exhibition held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2005, ANGVA 2007 hosted by ANGVA and the Thailand Association for Natural Gas Vehicle (TANGV) in Bangkok Thailand, promises to be the key event of the global Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV) industry for 2007.
ANGVA 2007 to be held at the Bangkok International Trade Exhibition Centre (BITEC) between 27 to 29 November 2007, presents a valuable opportunity to bring together more than 1000 key Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV) industry delegates, with an exhibition audience of up to 4000 visitors.
